Chilis, Midvalley

I was hanging out with my friends every weekend in this month, that's why i can renew my blog so often, but at the same time, the hole in my pocket is getting bigger and bigger. T.T The place I visited this time is Chilis, which is situated in Midvalley. We went there at lunch time, around 11 or 12pm. That time there are only few tables so we are able to place our orders quickly.

We had tostada chips as starters, ordered mushroom jack fajitas but fajita quesadillas was served instead, honey chipotal crispers, fire-cracker fish fillet and drinks. The chips was served fast but the others are terribly slow, not until we had our second basket of chips (did i mention it's bottomless chips) the food are finally served. Well, maybe if the chips and its sauce taste better i would feel my waiting time to be shorter. The salsa tasted too sour.

The bottomless chips

The fajita quesadillas came up instead of mushroom jack fajitas. I had mushroom jack fajitas before during my previous visit to Chilis and it was great! Yummy! so i would like to try it again but the staff served the wrong one. I can't quite understand why this happen, of course i know people make mistakes but he repeated our order and i watched him writing the correct order, so... Anyway it happened and we would not want to wait for another long time again so fajita quesadillas it is. The menu stated that there is marinated-chicken inside the tortillas but honestly, i didn't think it has any chicken pieces inside, at least i didn't taste any of it. My friends, too, did not regard it as delicious.

For the honey chipotal crispers, the chicken was a no-no. The picture showed in menu was fried crispy chicken, but from what was served, the chicken tasted somehow like those chicken meat ball . No wonder they always have to put "for illustration only" below! =.= Although the corn served along was so juicy and sweet and the sauce is nice, but still, this is not a dish i would recommend.

The last dish is fire-cracker fish fillet. From the name, i expected it to be in red sauce and is spicy but instead it was in brown sauce, and it tasted good and not spicy at all. The vegetables served along were raw carrots and raw long beans. I don't know how's others but none of us touch the long beans.

I found my previous visit was much better in the sense of food tastiness. The service was okay, when there are less tables, the staff is attentive and helpful. The bill amount was around RM 131, was quite expensive for me as i did not enjoy this lunch much. I just can say that my next visit to Chilis will not be anytime soon.

*Kind of tiring to recall bad dining experience. May update my blog only after CNY, so Happy Chinese New Year ahead.

Ecoparadise, The Gardens

Ecoparadise is an antioxidant rejuvenation center. It is located at the highest level of The Gardens. I was given a chance to participate in a "makeover with a mission" organized by Green Sentral, a green living organization (for details please go to www.greensentral.com) and this is one of its activities - a health spa in a natural way.

We were briefed shortly about this spa. This therapy is originated from Japan where the unique point is that the rooms were painted with anti-oxidant solution. Customers lie down on the hot bed in a heated room that is set at about 46 degree celsius, for about half an hour, and absorb the antioxidants via the skin and breathing.

The first thing in my mind when i stepped into the room was "hot!" especially my feet as to have direct contact with the heated floor. But after i lie down with a towel beneath, the heat was acceptable. And then after a while, when you kind of used to the temperature, you will find it to be just nice and cozy. I was able to take a short nap and relax in there.

After the therapy, i did feel more refreshed and energetic, though i did not sweat much (This spa was said to able our body to detox by sweating). But others sweat a lot, leading me to think that whether this is the sign of my metabolism having problems. After the spa, we watched some videos about Japanese testimonials on this spa therapy and many claimed that it was helpful in treating cancers! Some even say that it have obvious effect on making skin better and slimming. So maybe if you undergo this therapy continuously, you will get to see its result, for those who only tried once like me maybe the effect is not obvious.

I am quite familiar with sauna and for me this spa therapy is a bit similar with sauna in the sense of heating the room and detoxing by making us sweating. But sauna is using herbs and the humidity is higher so as the temperature. I would be staying in sauna room for 10 minutes and sweat a lot as if i'm in the shower. This spa is more comfortable than sauna with its moderately high temperature and i would surely like to try again if i had had the chance.

The red ceramics is what so-called hot bed.

Grey's Anatomy S7ep11 - Disarm ~ Review

Its been long (for me) since the last episode. Sometimes we would be wondering whether to continue following this drama as it's been so long, some storyline seems so familiar, but this episode is the second time lately i felt - wow, i'm glad to still keep watching this G.A. from the beginning season 1. This drama was started on 2005, when i was 15, I couldn't recall when i started to become the loyal follower, maybe when i'm in secondary?, but i still remember i was addicted to this drama from the very first episode i saw in television.

You know, there's a lot of drama, with different plots, stories, G.A. is different or could i say 'unique'. You watch all dramas you can to spend your time off, at the end of the drama you could simply remember nothing or maybe that leading actor looks so handsome or whatsoever, but G.A. is just different from all those for me.

At first i thought it's the monologue at the beginning and the end of the episode, they are so more than an introduction and conclusion, they are like the tool to push your emotion along the story to the highest or to the lowest. But after these time, hey, on the second thought, it was the stories that made all the success. The monologue is just a catalyst.

I was a bit disappointed when Seattle Grace merged with Mercy West in G.A. . I was like, what's wrong with the writer? ran out of ideas so was forced to bring new faces? But really now I'm glad i stick with G.A. The last few episodes of season 6 were a blast! In just 2 or 3 episodes, i was brought to the peak and the lowest along the story.

My heart pounded faster when the gun was pointed at Derek, flowed my tears with Mer's when Derek's in surgery, nearly shouted when Owen came in the room and saw the shooter pointed at Christina who is doing surgery, i kept my breath several times in that episode. It was so dramatic and tensed. I was totally inside the story. But what's moves me it's what after the tension part. The process of healing after such severe injury - emotionally.

I would say past episodes of s7 were a bit boring, didn't leave any deep impression to me, but this episode was the same soul-stirring as the finale of season 6.

When something bad happened, that wounded us deeply inside, the first step is to face it. Face it with your dearest ones. Then let it heal itself slowly. But what happened when someone tear it off before it was healed? This was the main theme of episode 11 - disarm.

The ending for this episode was a good ending - with no people dying, no frustration that day. Maybe the writer is trying to say that, although you haven't recover from cloudy days, but just wait, and you will found your sunny day. When the worst had gone, you will notice some good things to happen or you will try hard to make good things happen, and so they will.

I always have had inspired by the stories and lines inside G.A., for me, it was just more than a drama. It's Grey's Anatomy.

Shabu One Steamboat Buffet, Lot 10

2 friends of mine and me first decided to went there as we've got its member card. But then after we arrived we found out that the student price is less than the member price. We went there around 11.45am and we are the second table on that morning. Its quite big and the air-conditioning is strong enough, quite nice for having steamboat there (which i felt kinda very cold after i had loads of ice creams).

There are 4 choices of soup base for steamboat where the customers could 2 soup base each table/ each steamboat pot, those i remembered are tomyam, chicken soup and spicy soup (麻辣锅). We had tomyam and chicken soup. Erm the taste is ok but i think there's lots of improvement space could be made.

My friends aimed for seafood steamboat before going there and their expectations are much fulfilled i think. There are about 4 or 5 types of fish including shark meat, prawns, crabs which are a bit small and were chopped into half. For me, i had more prawns and crabs, but i don think those are very fresh seafood, well its moderately fresh if i would say. And then there are beef and chicken where there are slices of chicken meat and also chicken thighs. A point to highlight is that its pork free.
Never the less, there are also lots of fishball, prawn ball, seafood tofu, meatball and lots of vegetables, pumpkin, enorki mushrooms, taufu and the one i took the most - sweet corn, Yeah~~delicious.. All kinds of mee are also available there for steamboat. One of the highlighted attraction point is that you can mix ur own sauce here but for me i just prefer simple thai chili sauce and the mixing result of my friends, it tasted weird...

Apart from food for steambot, there are also fried nice (yummy~), honey chicken, herbs-egg, stewed mince rice (肉燥饭), spicy beef, kimchi and curry mee. I enjoyed the fried rice and the honey chicken much, honestly much more than the steamboat. The dessert available are mango pudding, coconut kuih, cincao, fruits and red bean soup. The drinks there includes orange juice (not fresh juice), chinese tea and herbal tea. I like the herbal tea the most. And finally....the icecream. The ice cream there are of King's. There are 6 flavour if i'm remembered correctly, which i adore the pistachio flavour (the one with alomond chip inside)the most.

Well, to conclude, the steamboat buffet was moderately nice for me, but the side dishes like fried rice were definitely added points. Before going i checked some reviews and some said that the service there is not good but i oppose this as i experienced great service there - smile-greeting receptionist and helpful waiters. We had this lunch buffet at RM22 each. So actually for this price i would still visit this restaurant again and surely add there in my list of recommendations to friends

.
