Gardens Lifestyle Store and Cafe - Midvalley Shopping Mall

A friend along introduced me to this cafe. Very unique design for a cafe in a shopping mall especially with the piano inside the big bird cage, an eye catcher for whoever past by.

Beautiful design of the cafe.

Honey lemon and ice lemon tea. Refreshing enough!

Chicken terriyaki. Nice dish, making my mouth watering once it was served though i did not have any appetite at that time - it looked tasty and smelled good too!! There is only one thing about this, notice the outer layer of the sauce? Gosh, its the oil layering outside. But the sauce tasted really nice.

My friend's dish - grilled Barramundi. It tasted a bit sour and spicy with that crispy outer layer. Again, its oily. Yes you are right, that's the olive oil underneath it.

Both dishes tasted nice but we had to keep on switching having each other's dish in turns otherwise we would be fed up eating our dish alone, which i think was due to the oiliness of the dishes. Each dishes priced Rm 18.90 without tax. Talking about having western food in shopping mall, this price is kinda standard i would say, plus the food there are not bad, unlike some franchise western restaurant in shopping mall which are more expensive and have less tastier food.

Yellow Cab Pizza Co. - Ampang

Went to this Yellow Cab Pizza with friends who had been to Yellow Cab Philippines. They had been searching all around for franchise in Malaysia after returning, a reason of must try for me. But when we got there, suprisingly, in dinner time, we are the only table there.

The design of the restaurant.

We ordered for 3 pizzas, i'm not quite sure with the pizza name, i'll just show the pics, can get specific ones from the big menu hung at the wall of the restaurant there.

the menu. The box they served pizza in.

The pizzas we ordered.

I went there with friends who are vegetarians so the pizzas we ordered are vege pizza. The first pizza is the cheese pizza, followed by tribeca mushroom pizza and lastly the gourmet garden pizza i think (very not sure bout the names). The thing i like most of Yellow Cab Pizza Co. is that they allow you to choose the ingredients you want to add or not to add, freshly made and mixed once you placed your orders, which is very suitable for vegetarians. And of course, they tasted real nice. Thumbs up!! The total bill costs about rm 67 for 3 pizzas, a worthwhile meal for the 7 of us as we get real full with these 3 pizzas. Kinda wondering why there are still people going for other pizza restaurants, honestly, once you've tried pizzas here, you will be reluctant to go for others.

Bruno Mars - Marry you

Love Bruno Mars...His songs were lovely...esp tis n Just the way you are. Whenever i hear tis song, i will have a good mood, no matter what condition my mood is in....thats what nice songs do, rite? (You can hear it in my blog, if you cant, please do leave me a comment on it, thanks)

It’s a beautiful night,
We’re looking for something dumb to do.
Hey baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

Is it the look in your eyes,
Or is it this dancing juice?
Who cares baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

Well I know this little chapel on the boulevard we can go,
No one will know,
Come on girl.
Who cares if we’re trashed got a pocket full of cash we can blow,
Shots of patron,
And it’s on girl.

Don’t say no, no, no, no-no;
Just say yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah;
And we’ll go, go, go, go-go.
If you’re ready, like I’m ready.

Cause it’s a beautiful night,
We’re looking for something dumb to do.
Hey baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

Is it the look in your eyes,
Or is it this dancing juice?
Who cares baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

I’ll go get a ring let the choir bells sing like oooh,
So whatcha wanna do?
Let’s just run girl.
If we wake up and you wanna break up that’s cool.
No, I won’t blame you;
It was fun girl.

Don’t say no, no, no, no-no;
Just say yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah;
And we’ll go, go, go, go-go.
If you’re ready, like I’m ready.

Cause it’s a beautiful night,
We’re looking for something dumb to do.
Hey baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

Is it the look in your eyes,
Or is it this dancing juice?
Who cares baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

Just say I do,
Tell me right now baby,
Tell me right now baby. x2

Cause it’s a beautiful night,
We’re looking for something dumb to do.
Hey baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

Is it the look in your eyes,
Or is it this dancing juice?
Who cares baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

Philosophy and science

At first i cant stop wondering why i have to hv lessons on philosophy in the subject- ethics in science and technology. But now i know philosophy related to all kind of things, anything we have to use our mind on. So there's some nice article my lecturer gave us to read, i'll just put my report as it's review (the way a lazy person does), it's in bm, btw.

Sebelum memulakan laporan tentang kuliah, saya ingin mengulaskan satu artikel diberi oleh pensyarah bertajuk “The father of modern science?” oleh Andrew Pyle.

1. "Idols of the Tribe"

Bacon said that the Idols of the Tribe "take their rise either from the homogeneity of the substance of the human spirit, or from its preoccupation, or from its narrowness, or from its restless motion, or from an infusion of the affections, or from the incompetency of the senses, or from the mode of impression"

2. "Idols of the Cave"

Bacon said that the Idols of the Cave "grow for the most part either out of the predominance of a favorite subject, or out of an excessive tendency to compare or to distinguish, or out of partiality for particular ages, or out of the largeness or minuteness of the objects contemplated. And generally let every student of nature take this as a rule: that whatever his mind seizes and dwells upon with peculiar satisfaction is to be held in suspicion, and that so much the more care is to be taken in dealing with such questions to keep the understanding even and clear."

3. "Idols of the Market-place"

Bacon said that the Idols of the Market Place were given this name by him because "on account of the commerce and consort of men there. For it is by discourse that men associate, and words are imposed according to the apprehension of the vulgar. And therefore the ill and unfit choice of words wonderfully obstructs the understanding. Nor do the definitions or explanations wherewith in some things learned men are wont to guard and defend themselves, by any means set the matter right. But words plainly force and overrule the understanding, and throw all into confusion, and lead men away into numberless empty controversies and idle fancies."

4. "Idols of the Theater"

Bacon, “Idols which have immigrated into men's minds from the various dogmas of philosophies, and also from wrong laws of demonstration. These I call Idols of the Theater, because in my judgment all the received systems are but so many stage plays, representing worlds of their own creation after an unreal and scenic fashion. Nor is it only of the systems now in vogue, or only of the ancient sects and philosophies, that I speak; for many more plays of the same kind may yet be composed and in like artificial manner set forth; seeing that errors the most widely different have nevertheless causes for the most part alike. Neither again do I mean this only of entire systems, but also of many principles and axioms in science, which by tradition, credulity, and negligence have come to be received.”

Bacon said that, in his time, the last type, the superstitious, was most common, and did the most harm.

Comeback Madonna

这是韩剧"I am Legend" 里的ost.

"The King's Speech"

Watched the movie "The King's Speech" and found out a chinese article about tat...both are such fascinating, worth introducing to u all...

2010年12月17日 (i saw tis article in sinchew dated 13 March 2011)

Some said its about the king and commoners, about equility...some said its about striving through hard conditions...
i would say watch it and hv your own understanding towards what it delivered.

cheers~

Kechara Oasis : New Age Vegetarian Cuisine, Jaya One

This was my second time going there. From my first visit, I had a good eating experience at there. Although it was expensive than usual vegetarian restaurants (which were expensive enough too) and their delivery time of dishes are s.l.o.w.(half an hour would be the minimum for first dish to be served), but those delicious food still attract us of going again. This time we went there with our whole family. : )

As we went there during CNY, there was only set meals available. We ordered a set lunch of RM388++(its CNY trend that so less food to choose n all are so expensive). As usual the food are so slow and they even deliver our dishes to the wrong table which makes us have to wait for another hour for that next dish. Although the food there are nice and unique, really have to think twice before going again.

Lou sang, a must during CNY. Not bad, new elements were added, such as bread crunch, fried seaweed etc.

This dish is superb. The fried mushroom, the yam roll, all are delicious. The sate is so-so for me but my brother loves it.

Wondering what is that green thingie? Its cucumber, creative rite? It tasted good too, with the sauce.

Looked simple rite? But it's very nice, for me, making simple dishes delicious is what proves a chef's a good one.

This is the dessert. Inside its banana and yam, if i remember correctly. There is also 1 noodle dish before this, the one we waited for an hour for it to be served. Although that time i was extremely full, i still managed to finish up a bowl of it, because it's so yummy.

Okay, I have to admit, looking back at these pictures reminding me of how delicious the dishes were. So maybe a couple of bad experience on the services would not stop me from going again. You would be amazed by the creativity of the chef that how well they mixed those ingredients together, of combination which you wouldn't thought of, and produced such delicious dishes. If you wanted a different style of vegetarian cuisine, honestly this would be on the top of my list.

love food, love live!

Successful lesson on embedding music code

Yay! Finally i am able to embed a song to my blog. This isn't the first time i tried (ok i know i'm not brilliant ppl tat would succeed at the first time) but i'm glad i tried again and now yay! Nice to hear my favourite (*current) song to be played once i opened my page.

Would like to share my way of embedding music for blog to all who wish to do the same. First i upload the music file in
www.dropbox.com
to create file url and then i use google reader player to be embedded at my blog. Suprisingly, its that easy (kinda wondering why couldn't i manage to do this at the first time =.= and seriously i don't need the answer plz). In addition, check out this website, i got the code from here :
http://www.labnol.org/internet/design/html-embed-mp3-songs-podcasts-music-in-blogs-websites/2232/
My current favourite song is a korean song, from a korean drama. I loved it so much that i've copied down the lyrics from the drama line by line to post it at my music player, and of course, at here too! as i couldn't wait until the ost to be published. (I know i could be a bit ridiculous sometimes!haha)

IU (dream high ost)
The end.

Chilis, Midvalley

I was hanging out with my friends every weekend in this month, that's why i can renew my blog so often, but at the same time, the hole in my pocket is getting bigger and bigger. T.T The place I visited this time is Chilis, which is situated in Midvalley. We went there at lunch time, around 11 or 12pm. That time there are only few tables so we are able to place our orders quickly.

We had tostada chips as starters, ordered mushroom jack fajitas but fajita quesadillas was served instead, honey chipotal crispers, fire-cracker fish fillet and drinks. The chips was served fast but the others are terribly slow, not until we had our second basket of chips (did i mention it's bottomless chips) the food are finally served. Well, maybe if the chips and its sauce taste better i would feel my waiting time to be shorter. The salsa tasted too sour.

The bottomless chips

The fajita quesadillas came up instead of mushroom jack fajitas. I had mushroom jack fajitas before during my previous visit to Chilis and it was great! Yummy! so i would like to try it again but the staff served the wrong one. I can't quite understand why this happen, of course i know people make mistakes but he repeated our order and i watched him writing the correct order, so... Anyway it happened and we would not want to wait for another long time again so fajita quesadillas it is. The menu stated that there is marinated-chicken inside the tortillas but honestly, i didn't think it has any chicken pieces inside, at least i didn't taste any of it. My friends, too, did not regard it as delicious.

chicken fajita quesadillas

For the honey chipotal crispers, the chicken was a no-no. The picture showed in menu was fried crispy chicken, but from what was served, the chicken tasted somehow like those chicken meat ball . No wonder they always have to put "for illustration only" below! =.= Although the corn served along was so juicy and sweet and the sauce is nice, but still, this is not a dish i would recommend.

honey chipotal crispers

The last dish is fire-cracker fish fillet. From the name, i expected it to be in red sauce and is spicy but instead it was in brown sauce, and it tasted good and not spicy at all. The vegetables served along were raw carrots and raw long beans. I don't know how's others but none of us touch the long beans.

fire-cracker fish fillet

I found my previous visit was much better in the sense of food tastiness. The service was okay, when there are less tables, the staff is attentive and helpful. The bill amount was around RM 131, was quite expensive for me as i did not enjoy this lunch much. I just can say that my next visit to Chilis will not be anytime soon.

*Kind of tiring to recall bad dining experience. May update my blog only after CNY, so Happy Chinese New Year ahead.

Ecoparadise, The Gardens

Ecoparadise is an antioxidant rejuvenation center. It is located at the highest level of The Gardens. I was given a chance to participate in a "makeover with a mission" organized by Green Sentral, a green living organization (for details please go to www.greensentral.com) and this is one of its activities - a health spa in a natural way.

We were briefed shortly about this spa. This therapy is originated from Japan where the unique point is that the rooms were painted with anti-oxidant solution. Customers lie down on the hot bed in a heated room that is set at about 46 degree celsius, for about half an hour, and absorb the antioxidants via the skin and breathing.

The first thing in my mind when i stepped into the room was "hot!" especially my feet as to have direct contact with the heated floor. But after i lie down with a towel beneath, the heat was acceptable. And then after a while, when you kind of used to the temperature, you will find it to be just nice and cozy. I was able to take a short nap and relax in there.

After the therapy, i did feel more refreshed and energetic, though i did not sweat much (This spa was said to able our body to detox by sweating). But others sweat a lot, leading me to think that whether this is the sign of my metabolism having problems. After the spa, we watched some videos about Japanese testimonials on this spa therapy and many claimed that it was helpful in treating cancers! Some even say that it have obvious effect on making skin better and slimming. So maybe if you undergo this therapy continuously, you will get to see its result, for those who only tried once like me maybe the effect is not obvious.

I am quite familiar with sauna and for me this spa therapy is a bit similar with sauna in the sense of heating the room and detoxing by making us sweating. But sauna is using herbs and the humidity is higher so as the temperature. I would be staying in sauna room for 10 minutes and sweat a lot as if i'm in the shower. This spa is more comfortable than sauna with its moderately high temperature and i would surely like to try again if i had had the chance.

The red ceramics is what so-called hot bed.

Grey's Anatomy S7ep11 - Disarm ~ Review

Its been long (for me) since the last episode. Sometimes we would be wondering whether to continue following this drama as it's been so long, some storyline seems so familiar, but this episode is the second time lately i felt - wow, i'm glad to still keep watching this G.A. from the beginning season 1. This drama was started on 2005, when i was 15, I couldn't recall when i started to become the loyal follower, maybe when i'm in secondary?, but i still remember i was addicted to this drama from the very first episode i saw in television.

You know, there's a lot of drama, with different plots, stories, G.A. is different or could i say 'unique'. You watch all dramas you can to spend your time off, at the end of the drama you could simply remember nothing or maybe that leading actor looks so handsome or whatsoever, but G.A. is just different from all those for me.

At first i thought it's the monologue at the beginning and the end of the episode, they are so more than an introduction and conclusion, they are like the tool to push your emotion along the story to the highest or to the lowest. But after these time, hey, on the second thought, it was the stories that made all the success. The monologue is just a catalyst.

I was a bit disappointed when Seattle Grace merged with Mercy West in G.A. . I was like, what's wrong with the writer? ran out of ideas so was forced to bring new faces? But really now I'm glad i stick with G.A. The last few episodes of season 6 were a blast! In just 2 or 3 episodes, i was brought to the peak and the lowest along the story.

My heart pounded faster when the gun was pointed at Derek, flowed my tears with Mer's when Derek's in surgery, nearly shouted when Owen came in the room and saw the shooter pointed at Christina who is doing surgery, i kept my breath several times in that episode. It was so dramatic and tensed. I was totally inside the story. But what's moves me it's what after the tension part. The process of healing after such severe injury - emotionally.

I would say past episodes of s7 were a bit boring, didn't leave any deep impression to me, but this episode was the same soul-stirring as the finale of season 6.

When something bad happened, that wounded us deeply inside, the first step is to face it. Face it with your dearest ones. Then let it heal itself slowly. But what happened when someone tear it off before it was healed? This was the main theme of episode 11 - disarm.

The ending for this episode was a good ending - with no people dying, no frustration that day. Maybe the writer is trying to say that, although you haven't recover from cloudy days, but just wait, and you will found your sunny day. When the worst had gone, you will notice some good things to happen or you will try hard to make good things happen, and so they will.

I always have had inspired by the stories and lines inside G.A., for me, it was just more than a drama. It's Grey's Anatomy.

Shabu One Steamboat Buffet, Lot 10

2 friends of mine and me first decided to went there as we've got its member card. But then after we arrived we found out that the student price is less than the member price. We went there around 11.45am and we are the second table on that morning. Its quite big and the air-conditioning is strong enough, quite nice for having steamboat there (which i felt kinda very cold after i had loads of ice creams).

There are 4 choices of soup base for steamboat where the customers could 2 soup base each table/ each steamboat pot, those i remembered are tomyam, chicken soup and spicy soup (麻辣锅). We had tomyam and chicken soup. Erm the taste is ok but i think there's lots of improvement space could be made.

My friends aimed for seafood steamboat before going there and their expectations are much fulfilled i think. There are about 4 or 5 types of fish including shark meat, prawns, crabs which are a bit small and were chopped into half. For me, i had more prawns and crabs, but i don think those are very fresh seafood, well its moderately fresh if i would say. And then there are beef and chicken where there are slices of chicken meat and also chicken thighs. A point to highlight is that its pork free.
Never the less, there are also lots of fishball, prawn ball, seafood tofu, meatball and lots of vegetables, pumpkin, enorki mushrooms, taufu and the one i took the most - sweet corn, Yeah~~delicious.. All kinds of mee are also available there for steamboat. One of the highlighted attraction point is that you can mix ur own sauce here but for me i just prefer simple thai chili sauce and the mixing result of my friends, it tasted weird...

Apart from food for steambot, there are also fried nice (yummy~), honey chicken, herbs-egg, stewed mince rice (肉燥饭), spicy beef, kimchi and curry mee. I enjoyed the fried rice and the honey chicken much, honestly much more than the steamboat. The dessert available are mango pudding, coconut kuih, cincao, fruits and red bean soup. The drinks there includes orange juice (not fresh juice), chinese tea and herbal tea. I like the herbal tea the most. And finally....the icecream. The ice cream there are of King's. There are 6 flavour if i'm remembered correctly, which i adore the pistachio flavour (the one with alomond chip inside)the most.

Well, to conclude, the steamboat buffet was moderately nice for me, but the side dishes like fried rice were definitely added points. Before going i checked some reviews and some said that the service there is not good but i oppose this as i experienced great service there - smile-greeting receptionist and helpful waiters. We had this lunch buffet at RM22 each. So actually for this price i would still visit this restaurant again and surely add there in my list of recommendations to friends

.

Sauces for self-mixing.
